Manston Decontamination Area
All of this building is above ground, although there is an underground bunker underneath, which has been capped off. I am still unclear as to the decontamination process that this building was designed for, so if anyone could give me any information about the building itself or the decontamination process, I would be very grateful.
During the Second World War, the perceived threat that Hitler would attack Britain with gas was strong enough for gas decontamination centres such as this one at RAF Manston to be built. It contains gas-tight doors, and its excellent condition is due to the building being in use until 1998.
